Catching up with Richard Siegwald, Director @ LAM LHA

Q: What excites you the most about having joined LAM LHA?

LAM LHA is recognized for having deep expertise in the security sector, especially with respect to product qualification, marketing, and go-to-market. LAM LHA’s clients range from small innovative start-ups to large international companies. I’m having a great time being part of a company that gives strategic advice to such a wide variety of stakeholders.

Q: What is your favorite thing about aviation security?

Aviation security is a critical issue for airports, airlines, and passengers. However, regulations are inconsistent in different locations and the threat is constantly evolving.  Trying to help actors build and bring to market products that meet operator needs at scale – both commercially and from a security perspective – is an exciting challenge.

Q: You are new here at LAM LHA. What has surprised you the most so far?

Passion, professionalism, and a customer-centric approach are front and center across the organization. The fact that our team is multi-cultural and international, but in such a niche market, is a real differentiator. There aren’t many firms out there in our space who have a truly global view – and it matters in such a connected market.

Q: Tell us a bit about what you do in your free time, your hobbies, and what you do to keep that strong work/life balance?  

To maintain balance between my personal and professional lives, I do a lot of sports including swimming, scuba diving, and running – and a lot of hikes with my wife and children. I’m fortunate to have completed multiple marathons.

Q: What are you looking forward to most in 2024?

I’m focused on growing LAM LHA’s portfolio by helping tech companies develop distribution networks that will accelerate sales. I’ve been doing this for large companies for the better part of 20 years and am really looking forward to bottling up this know-how and scaling it to a range of new and emerging tech players in the months ahead. As part of this, I’m looking forward to connecting with new and old colleagues this year on the trade show circuit to share more on what we’re building.
